The International Department at Tianchang Senior High School held the annual English Speech Contest in the lecture hall of Chengzhi Building on the 6th of May 2023.
Principal Mdm Zhang Zhaohong attended the event and gave an inspirational opening speech. She emphasized that mastering English requires a comprehensive training that includes listening, speaking, reading, and writing. She encouraged students to read extensively, express themselves boldly, and communicate widely.
The theme of this competition is "Chinese Traditional Culture", The dissemination of historical, literary, and musical knowledge in traditional Peking Opera, the spiritual essence of "harmony", "respect", "beauty", and "truth" in tea ceremony, the spiritual cultivation, emotional and aesthetic enhancement in calligraphy and other educational functions were all well-known to the students.
In addition，there were some performances from Year1，like dancing，chorus and playing the violin. Moreover，the hosts of the ceremony were also students from Year1 IEP Department.
After the intense competition, Shen Zongyuan and Jiang Yuxin from IEP class won the special prize.
5月6日下午，天长中学国际部在诚致楼一楼报告厅举行2023年英语演讲比赛。
校长张兆红出席活动现场，并发表热情洋溢讲话，她强调，操千曲而后晓声，“听说读写”在内的全方位训练是提高英语学科素养的必经之途。她鼓励同学们勤阅读，勇表达，广交流。
本次比赛的主题是“中国传统文化”，传统京剧中的历史，文学和音乐知识的传播，茶道中的“和，敬，美，真”的精神要义，书法中的精神培养，情操陶冶，审美提升等教化功能，同学们能如数家珍，娓娓道来。
另外，比赛中间穿插了国际班同学的表演，有合唱，跳舞和小提琴演奏。比赛的主持人也是来自国际班。
经过激烈角逐，最终，国际班沈宗源和江玉鑫同学获得了特等奖。
