[IEP] 2016 Speech Contest @ Tianchang High School

On May 8, 2016, at 2:30 P.M. The annual IEP speech contest was held as scheduled in the lecture hall. The topic of this contest is “China and the Changing world” after the class featured, there were a total of 22 students would to compete for each other.

The judges were made up of 3 English teachers from school and 5 foreign teachers from CWin.

At the beginning of the contest, vice principal Mr. Zhao gave a short speech, and reaffirmed the importance of the international department. He stressed that this is in line with the progress of the times, and also emphasized that such contests can help train students overcome the fear of public speaking, provide them with a platform for showcasing their talents in front of public, while improving the their basic communicative abilities.

During the competition, the hall was full of people; all the contestants gave a good understanding of the topics, show their deep speaking skills and the contemporary students’ positive mental outlook. The wonderful speeches drew forth applause from the audience and kept the atmosphere excited. To keep the whole event more entertaining, there were song and dance performances by the IEP students in between the speeches.

After 2 hours of exciting competition, Mei Shiyu, from class 21, got the champion.
