On the morning of April 20, our international department @ Wuwei No. 1 High School held the second annual IEP Speech Contest in the school auditorium. 22 contestants took part in the contest, with each contestant full of energy and confidence, hungry to win the race before the contest even started.
Mdm Yap from C Win marked the start by giving the opening remarks. The school principal and several heads of departments were also present at the event. In between every block of 5 contestants, various IEP students put up different enthusiastic performances to entertain the audience.
At the end of the contest, as Mr. Wang from CWin was giving the closing remarks, a lovely student from the IEP class did a real-time interpretation, to rounds of thunderous applause from the audience. This was followed by the awarding of the prizes to the winners.
This contest offered a perfect stage not only for the students to display their oral English skills, but also a platform for them to express their talents otherwise not discoverable during regular classroom lessons.
