On April 23- 24, 2015, representatives from the Malaysian Southern University College, President Dr. Thock Kiah Wah and Director of Student Recruitment Mr. Heng Hua Teck visited Lu’An No. 1 High School. Together with them were CWin Director Dr. Wang Shih Ching and manager Mr. Tao Jinqiu.
The whole activity was divided into three parts. 1. Attending the Year 1 Speech Contest. 2. Meeting with Lu’an No.1 High School administrators and 3.Presentation of their university to Year 2 I.E.P. students.
An introduction video of Malaysia Southern University was shown. It introduced the university’s history, campus location, hardware and software facilities, faculty application settings, teachers and students. It was followed by the speech by Dr. Thock. It was his first time to come to Anhui, but he knows much about the local history. He even mentioned the names of famous people from the ancient times up to modern day, who originated from Anhui province, so, he reminded the students that they should all be proud of their roots. He reiterated that Lu’an No 1 High School is one of the best schools in the province, that every year, more than 95% of students are admitted to the best universities in China. Furthermore, he has spoken highly of the 2015 Year 1 I.E.P. students’ speech contest. He was very impressed of their talents, and English speaking abilities.
The entire session was active with a good interaction between the speaker and the students. Some questions were raised and were answered accordingly and patiently. Dr. Thock and Mr. Heng were thankful for the warm reception of the school.
